Siwa Oasis has many hot and cold springs, its water has several metal salts and some metals of therapeutic value such as sodium carbonate and varying proportions of some metallic elements such as magnesium and iron.
The water can cure some diseases such as psoriasis, rheumatism and some digestive system diseases. The most famous spring is the Kegar well; the temperature of its water is 67-degree Celsius.
Cleopatra’s pool is another popular spring in Siwa Oasis, it is a stone pool fed by a natural hot spring, it is said the Egyptian queen Cleopatra herself has swam in this pool on her visit to Siwa.
Mount Dakrour
Mount Dakrour is an important mountain in Siwa Oasis, it is used in the treatment of rheumatic diseases and joint pain and general feeling of weakness and debility. The treatment done by the sand burying the body (burial treatment) for periods ranging between a quarter and a half hour a day over two weeks in the summer months, during certain hours of the day.
